P: Hey there

D: Hi

P: Now, Everybody's been talking about you. Who are you?

D: Uh, My name is Dave Moffatt. Uh, former member of The Moffatts. Um, from Victoria BC. I'm turning 21 March 8th, so I'll probably be 21 when this show's up ... online. And that's about it, Yeah.

P: Ok, and uh why are you trying out for Canadian Idol?

D: I wanna see how good I come *laughs* Um I, I think uh it would be a fun experience. I'm into meeting new people, and I'm going to make good friends doing this. Um, should be interesting.

P: Now what uh, were you, you weren't the older, oldest member of the Moffatts?

D: Youngest

P: You were the Youngest... ok

D: I'm a triplet though

P: Oh, OK

D: So...

P: Mmm Hmmm... Now do you think there's a disadvantage to people kind of, I'm sure the judges know that you were, you were a child performer. And uh your experience with this kind of thing, do you think that's a disadvantage?

D: Uh, could be. Um, I don't know, I think that the way I'm singing right now is uh, it's more myself, so I think it sounds better than when I was in the band. Um, I, the only thing is, I'm, I'm petrified. I'm so scared. Cause I like, I don't, like, I, I don't know what they're going to say and... But you know that's, that's, that's what happens. And go in there and you have to expect the risk and then go through with it (inaudible).

P: Now, what do your uh, brothers think about this?

D: Uh, they were laughing. They thought it was pretty funny. Um, but I told them yesterday that I made it to the Discovery special and (inaudible) and then they called me and we talked about it so...

P: Now you're kind of nervous because uh there's this expectation?

D: Yes, a little nervous, um but at the same time I think that I can ... uh I think that I can, like overcome that. And so I think that's going to be fine.

P: Alright, well how are you going to wow the judges, what are you going to sing?

D: I'm going to sing uh Craig David: Walking Away. Um, possibly Boyz II Men: Water Runs Dry, Um Maroon 5: This Love, it depends on how many songs he asks me to sing.

P: So you're not going to sing I Miss You Like Crazy?

D: I was thinking about it doing a Moffatt song but thought, you know what ... No! can't do it, not good, so it would just be, it would be trouble. Yeah
Both: *laughing*

P: Ok, well good luck to you.

D: Maybe I'll sing a Hanson song.

P: Oh, there you go, alright, thank you.
